Northeast Missouri kids were able to show off their costumes at a special Halloween event Monday night.

The Macon Lion's Club hosted a Halloween parade.

The fun started at the Royal Theater, and parade participants walked the streets of downtown Macon.

Following the parade, a costume contest was held.

Newborns and kids through the age of 10 were invited to participate.

Costumes ranged from scary and spooky to superheroes and princesses.

Cash prizes were awarded and treats were also given out.

The Macon Lion's Club hosts this fun event every Halloween.

Event organizers said they were pleased with all the families that came out to have some early Halloween fun.
