Kirksville celebrates homecoming with parade, football game
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
The sound of marching bands and excited fans filled the streets of Downtown Kirksville late Friday afternoon as part of the high schools homecoming parade.
Harvey Young served as grand marshal this year.
Children had the chance to fill baskets with candy and Kirksville fans cheered on their favorite team.
The parade made for the perfect way to kick-off this year's homecoming festivities.
The theme is "Claw the Dogs." as the Kirksville Tigers play the Mexico Bulldogs.
The 97-year-old grand marshal told KTVO that back in his day, it took two months to build floats for the parade.
