Crews have been hard at work clearing streets in the Kirksville area throughout the day on Sunday.

On Saturday, many of the roads were left slick and snow covered.

By late-afternoon on Sunday, a majority of the roads have been plowed and treated.

At last check, city crews have been working to clear snow from secondary and minor roads.

Kirksville Public Works Director Glenn Balliew is asking citizens to do their part to assist in the snow removal process.

"Everyone needs to know that by the city ordinance, you can't push all your snow and ice and stuff out into the street. You're supposed to clean that up yourself. Sidewalks need to be clear within 24 hours in front of your home after the snow ends, I think a lot of people don't realize that."

Balliew adds he is confident Kirksville crews will have all roads cleared by the start of business and school on Monday.
