UPDATE: KPD arrest two teens following late-night fatal shooting

UPDATE: Two local murder suspects have now been formally charged in connection with a late-night shooting in Kirksville.

Andrew Head, 17, and Drake Zanoni, 18, both of Kirksville, are charged with Second-Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action in the shooting death of Izaiha J. McFarland, 17, also of Kirksville.

The two suspects are being held on $1 million cash-only bond in the Adair County Law Enforcement Center.


Kirksville Police are currently investigating a fatal shooting that happened late Wednesday night.

According to KPD, the shooting happened just before 11 p.m. in the 600 block of North Franklin Street.

When officers arrived, they found Izaiha J. McFarland, 17, with a gunshot wound.

He was transported to Northeast Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Officers combed the area looking for a possible suspect or suspects.

It was a very active scene for several hours.

A few hours later, officers located the two people they believe are responsible for the shooting.

They are now on a 24-hour hold for 2nd-Degree Murder at the Adair County Detention Center.
