Crews have been hard at work clearing snow in Kirksville on Saturday.

At this time, a Traffic and Snow Emergency remains in effect.

All vehicles must be removed from all Emergency Snow Routes, including city streets in the Downtown and Central Business District. Vehicles not removed will be towed.

Kirksville Public Works Director Glenn Balliew says residents are also strongly encouraged to remove vehicles from all other city streets to assist crews with the task of snow removal.

He is asking citizens to remain patient while crews work.

"Until it ends, your street is not going to be completely cleaned up. It's going to warm up some next week, so we think we will get that off. They are already calling for maybe some snow next weekend. We pay attention to this stuff and we are really trying to do the best we can. We will also be salting a lot after the snow ends to make sure we get all the ice off the roads."

Balliew adds he is confident city crews will have streets cleaned and ready to go for the start of school and business on Monday.
