Lee County body identified, arrest made
LEE COUNTY, Iowa —
An arrest has been made in connection with a body found in rural southeast Iowa over the weekend.
On Sunday, the body of Sadie Alvarado, 20, was found on a gravel road south of West Point.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office and Department of Public Safety led the investigation.
On Monday, authorities announced that charges had been filed against Damian Hamann, 28, of Morning Sun, Iowa.
Hamann has been charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death.
That is a Class "D" felony.
The DPS declined to release an additional information on the cause of Alvarado's death or Hamman's role in it.
An autopsy on Alvarado has been been scheduled for Tuesday.
The incident remains under investigation.
