Local United Way chapter kicks off 2019 campaign
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
The United Way of Northeast Missouri kicked off its 2019 campaign Thursday evening.
This year they have a goal of raising $170,000.
That money goes to support 13 agencies not just in Adair County, but the surrounding area.
That's why now, the local organization is known as The United Way of Northeast Missouri.
Event organizers decided to try something different for the kickoff, and hosted the event at White Oaks Wedding Barn.
There, attendees got first-hand testimony on why the funding is so essential.
"Throughout the night we'll be hearing different stories from the different agencies about what United Way funds do for them and their clients," event co-chair Keith Jackson said.
If you'd like to make a pledge, Jackson says you're welcome to stop by the United Way Office at the corner of Jefferson and Franklin Streets in Kirksville for a pledge card.
