Longtime Bonaparte resident turns 100 years old

BONAPARTE, Iowa — Reaching the century mark never felt so good, especially for Marie Hainline, of Bonaparte.

She turned 100 years old on Thursday, and her friends, family and community came out to celebrate.

A fun fact about Hainline is that she is known as the oldest waitress in Iowa, serving up food for over 30 years.

The restaurant she worked at has a table reserved just for her.

Hainline was driven around the community in a convertible to see the posters and ribbons outside residents' home wishing her a happy birthday.

A number of residents also shouted "Happy Birthday" to her as she rode past their homes.
