Lord's Cupboard aims to feed 500 families in need
FAIRFIELD, Iowa —
A local food pantry is looking for volunteers to help feed families in need this month.
The Lord's Cupboard of Jefferson County is preparing to distribute hundreds of Christmas meal boxes.
Volunteers will meet in Fairfield next Thursday to help fill those boxes. Trudy Vandgriff, a volunteer for the Lord's Cupboard tells KTVO all are welcome.
Anyone who wants to help fill the boxes we will take those at 5:30 Thursday evening at the Nazarene Family Center here in Fairfield.
Vandgriff added that this year's Christmas meal boxes come with a variety of goods.
Those boxes are filled with absolutely everything for a meal. You also get fresh produce, fresh meat, milk, bread, canned goods, cereals, anything a household would need at this particular time of the year.
She said no registration is required.
"If you show up, we will put you to work," Vandgriff said.
