Man points gun at Ottumwa household, police say
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
An Ottumwa man is facing a felony charge after police say he pointed a gun at a group of people.
Drake Steinbach, 21, was arrested earlier this month and charged with First-Degree Burglary.
The charge stems from a Jan. 30 incident, where police say Steinbach and his accomplices forced their way into a garage on Ellis Avenue.
Lt. Chad Farrington told KTVO there were at least three people inside the garage. He wasn't sure why Steinbach was there, or how he knew the victims.
Court records show Steinbach pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at each person.
Police say the victims were pretty spooked, but not physically hurt. KTVO went to the property Thursday to talk to the victims about what happened, but no one answered the door.
Steinbach has since been released from custody, and has waived his right to a preliminary hearing. If convicted as charged, Steinbach could face up to 25 years in prison.
