SULLIVAN COUNTY, Mo. — A man was shot this week in northern Missouri when a gun accidentally discharged.
The incident was reported at 11 a.m. on Monday.
It happened at a residence on Karen Road, about 10 miles north of Milan, Mo.
The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office told KTVO the accident happened when two 42-year-old men from Pennsylvania were cleaning a muzzleloader rifle.
The weapon discharged and struck one of the men in the finger. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The sheriff's office declined to release the men's names.
According to the Sullivan County Assessor's Office, one of the men owns the property where the accident happened.
