A woman charged in the death of her baby that was found dead in his baby swing has been found guilty of murder.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that 21-year-old Cheyanne Harris was convicted on first-degree murder and child endangerment leading to death charges on Wednesday.

4-month-old Sterling Koehn was found infested with maggots in his parents Alta Vista apartment on Aug. 30, 2017.

An autopsy revealed that Koehn died of malnutrition, dehydration and an E. coli infection. Prosecutors say he was left in a maggot-infested diaper for up to two weeks leading up to his death.

The boy's father, Zachary Koehn, was found guilty of the same charges in November and sentenced to life in prison.

A first-degree murder conviction carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Harris will be sentenced later this month.
