NEMO driver's car slides on ice, slams into tree

A northern Missouri woman was injured Tuesday after her car slid out of control on an icy road and slammed into a tree.

That one-car crash happened just before 9 a.m. on an ice-covered Highway 36, one mile east of Brookfield.

State troopers said a car driven by Terisa Buckner, 35, of Marceline started to slide, traveled off the right side of the highway and hit a tree.

Buckner suffered moderate injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield for treatment.

According to the online crash report, Buckner was wearing her seat belt.
