NEMO man injured after vehicle slides on ice, strikes embankment

A northeast Missouri man is recovering after a weekend crash.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 7 p.m. Saturday, on Highway RA, seven miles northeast of Milan.

Troopers say a vehicle driven by Lanny Crawford, 74, of Milan, slid on an ice covered roadway.

As a result, the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, over a bridge, went airborne, landed in a creek and struck an embankment.

Crawford was transported to Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan by private vehicle for treatment of moderate injuries.

Troopers add Crawford was wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred.
