A local small business development counselor in northeast Missouri has been recognized for her achievements and success.

During a recent Missouri Rural Enterprise and Innovation Center, or MREIC, board meeting, members were updated on the success of Anastasia Tiedemann.

Tiedemann serves as the small business counselor with the Missouri Small Business Development Center in Kirksville.

At the end of January, members of the University of Missouri Extension Business Development Program (BDP) were recognized for achievements during the 2018 fiscal year.

Programs included in the BDP are the Missouri Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC), and Mid-America Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (TAAC).

Tiedemann told KTVO she is pleased with the recognition.

"It was pretty exciting to be up there because usually, a lot of the awards go to Kansas City and St. Louis, so it was exciting that Kirksville brought home two awards."

The awards Tiedemann received are: "Top 5 Missouri SBDC staff recognized for the Greatest Impact Generation: Business Starts" and "Top 5 Missouri SBDC staff recognized for Highest Client Satisfaction."
