Northeast Missouri woman killed in power takeoff accident on farm

    A northeast Missouri woman is dead as the result of a tragic farm accident.

    It happened around 4:45 p.m. on Thursday on her farm along Lewis County Route P just southwest of Canton.

    Lewis County Coroner Larry Arnold identified the victim as Marilyn Campen-Berhorst, 58, of Canton.

    An emergency responder who was at the scene told KTVO it appeared Campen-Berhorst somehow got tangled up in her tractor's power takeoff (PTO), which was attached to a grinder-mixer.

    Investigators were not able to determine exactly how the accident happened.

    Campen-Berhorst was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:10 p.m. Thursday.

    The agencies that helped with the tragedy were the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, Canton Police Department, Canton Fire Department, Lewis County Ambulance and Missouri State Highway Patrol.
