Organization celebrating 35 years of service to community

Rep. Redmon, CEO Terry Combs, & Rep. Walker with house resolution in honor of Chariton Valley Association (KTVO)

Chariton Valley Association is celebrating 35 years as an organization.

On Thursday, they shared how far they've come in those three and a half decades.

The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce ‘Business After Hours’ event was sponsored in honor of Chariton Valley's anniversary.

It was to thank the community for its support through the years.

State Representatives Craig Redmon and Nate Walker attended the event.

They had jointly signed a house resolution in honor of Chariton Valley and its 35 years of commitment to the community.

CEO Terry Combs told us the organization has come a long way in that time.

"We couldn't do it without the support of the people in our community,” Combs said. “The Chamber Business After Hours is a great way for us to say thanks to the people who continue to support our organization, and recognize the value of people with developmental disabilities in our local community."

It was started in 1982 by a group of parents of children with disabilities.

Now it serves over 100 people in the area.
