An Ottumwa Girl Scout is keeping her pledge to serve her community, even while in college.

Over a year ago, 19-year-old Alexandra Reeves started the Forever Angels and Cuddle Cots project to help families with still-born babies.

The Cuddle Cots come from the United Kingdom. They cool down the baby’s body, allowing the family to have more time with it.

Reeves recently cuddle cots to Ottumwa and Pella Regional Hospitals. Now, she’s working on raising money to give another to Burlington.

“The hospitals were so happy that I was able to do that for them and the families are happy that his is available for them now,” said Reeves.

Each cot costs about $3,000.
