Ottumwa Salvation Army's youth program offers free food, games
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
The Ottumwa Salvation Army is now offering free lunch to ages 18 and under.
The offer made possible thanks to the Ottumwa YMCA's summer food program.
Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m to 2 p.m., kids are welcome at the ministry center on West Main Street for lunch, games, movies and more.
"There are a lot of families who don't have a good resource during the summer," said Envoy Bethany Woodard, Salvation Army Service Extension Director. "During the school year, they have school lunches and they are able to have that..."
The Salvation Army is also offering a cool-down station at the Ottumwa ministry center this summer. Stop by for some ice water, and A/C.
