Ottumwa TLC employees told to evacuate
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
Dozens of employees at an Ottumwa call center were told to evacuate the building Monday afternoon.
Around 12:30 p.m., staff members at Thomas L. Cardella and Associates waited outside the office building on South Market Street following a report of a possible gas leak.
The area was clear within 30 minutes, and employees returned to their work space.
The incident appeared to be minor. The Ottumwa Fire Department was not present during the evacuation.
Fire Chief Tony Miller told KTVO he wasn’t aware of the situation because his department was not called to respond.
