Ottumwa woman arrested for flashing police officer
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
An Ottumwa woman was arrested twice in just 36 hours for the exact same lewd offense last week.
Charlene Yardley, 21, was first arrested just after 1 a.m. on July 12 at the intersection of Mary and Milner streets for lifting her shirt and flashing passing vehicles.
She was arrested again the next afternoon after an Ottumwa police officer responded to a report of a person flashing two people at the intersection of Birch and Second Street in Ottumwa.
The officer found Yardley there and and attempted to address the situation.
She initially denied it, but then lifted her shirt towards the officer, exposing her chest.
She was then arrested.
Court documents say Yardley told the officer she did this to prove to the two others that she allegedly flashed that she was, in fact, a girl.
Yardley has already pleaded guilty to public nudity and been fined $100.
