Police chief faces DWI charge
UNIONVILLE, Mo. —
A northeast Missouri police chief has been charged with DWI.
Joshua Mathes, 29, of Unionville, Mo., was arrested in February on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Formal charges have now been filed against Mathes, who is Chief of Police in Unionville.
Mathes is charged with DWI and Failure to Drive on the Right Half of the Roadway. Both are misdemeanors. The charges stem from an incident in Adair County during the early morning hours of February 18 when Mathes was pulled over by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
After a change of judge in the case, Mathes was arraigned Thursday.
