Residents still have time to get flu vaccinations
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
The flu Season has already started and it could be deadly.
Many residents who have not gotten the vaccine might think it’s too late to get vaccinated, but health officials say otherwise.
If you have not received the flu vaccine you can still get it up until as late as March.
Many stores and local pharmacies can administer the vaccine.
“It’s fairly affordable, I know somebody on fixed income it may be somewhat difficult because it could be lower, it could be 30, could go up to 40. It just depends on who it is that is offering it. If you have Medicare they will bill the Medicare part B,” said Lynelle Diers, Wapello County Public Health Director.
Diers added that flu cases have gone up in the area recently.
