The Salvation Army to kick off Red Kettle Campaign at Hobby Lobby
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
The Salvation Army in Adair County announced the launch of its annual Christmas campaign to help raise money for the poor, homeless and others in need during the holidays and year-round.
The kick-off will be Monday starting at 5:00 p.m. at the new Hobby Lobby store in Kirksville.
The time-honored Christmas campaign will include traditional fundraising methods such as direct mail, as well as the highly visible red kettles, which have been a symbol of goodwill and holiday tradition for over 100 years.
Hot chocolate and cookies will be served to all who attend as well as mini red kettle bell keychains.
To ring in the campaign, a bell choir from Nazarene Church will be performing a few Christmas songs.
Members of The Salvation Army advisory board, along with Hobby Lobby's store manager, will be there to give their support of the campaign.
