SE Iowa man charged in overnight vehicle theft

Robert Beck/Henry County Jail

A southeast Iowa man is facing a felony charge this week, after deputies say he stole a vehicle from Burlington, and drove it to Mount Pleasant.

Just before 5 a.m. Tuesday, Henry County deputies were called to assist the Burlington Police Department with locating a stolen vehicle near Mount Pleasant.

The tan Chevrolet Cruze was recovered near Cornell Drive. Officers with the Henry County Sheriff's Office and Mount Pleasant Police Department eventually spotted the suspect walking in an area near the vehicle. The suspect is identified as Robert Beck, of Danville, Iowa.

Beck was arrested Tuesday and charged with Second-Degree Theft, a Class D Felony. He is still in custody at the Henry County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
