Semi lands on its side after crash in Wapello County
WAPELLO COUNTY, Iowa —
The driver of a semi walked away unharmed from a crash in Wapello County Monday.
Wapello County deputies were called to the accident on Highway 34 west towards Albia around 4 p.m.
Deputies say the semi, which was carrying salt, was westbound on Highway 34 when the driver lost control of the wheel and left the roadway.
The semi driver told authorities the sun's glare impaired his sight, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. Wapello County Chief Deputy Don Phillips said the driver was not injured in the crash.
Traffic continued to move through the area as crews cleared the scene Monday.
