In KTVO's continued coverage of 'Stand for the Silent: A story, a moment, an impact," we're now turning our focus to veteran's mental heath awareness.

Among the shoppers stocking up for the cold weather and getting early thanksgiving dinner supplies ready, is a way a local grocery store is making it easier to help veterans.

From now until November 18th, Hy-Vee customers can round up at the register to help support veterans, through ‘Operation Homefront.’

Those organizations are Hope for the Warriors, Operation First Response, The Puppy Jake Foundation, and the American Red Cross.

“We’re just appreciative of everything our veterans have done for our country, and we like to give back to them when we can,” said Scott Johnson, Kirksville Hy-Vee store director.

Hy-Vee will match the first $100,000 donated.
