SUV slams into tree, injuring two Kirksville residents
NEAR NOVINGER, Mo. —
Two people were hurt early Monday morning when their SUV ran off the road and slammed into a tree.
It happened at 5:15 a.m. on Highway 6, two-and-a-half miles west of Novinger, Missouri.
State troopers say an SUV driven by Papy Kayongo, 40, of Kirksville, was westbound when it went off the left side Highway 6 and hit a tree.
Kayongo suffered minor injuries. He was going to seek his own treatment.
His passenger, Andre Bwendelele-Mbelo, 47, also from Kirksville, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.
According to the online crash report, both men were wearing a seat belt.
