Techel hears sentence

Seth Techel in court

Convicted murderer Seth Techel was sentenced Wednesday afternoon.

The parents and siblings of Lisa Caldwell Techel spoke at the hearing held at the Monroe County Courthouse. Judge Daniel Wilson had moved the hearing to avoid any overcrowding at the Wapello County Courthouse due to the the re-trial of Gene Pilcher.

During the hearing, Tracy Caldwell described the emotional and physical pain she experienced over the loss of Lisa. Lisa's father could barely speak.

Seth Techel declined to make a statement.

Following the conclusion of Wednesday's testimony, Judge Wilson sentenced Techel to serve life plus 25 years.
