Multiple people were hurt in a crash in the Heartland Friday afternoon.

Troopers told KTVO at the scene that witnesses reported there were four vehicles all traveling east, on Highway Six just west of Novinger, near the Route K intersection.

Around 3:30 p.m., two of those vehicles, a gold SUV, and a white SUV, collided when they both pulled out into the westbound lane in order to pass other vehicles.

The two SUVs collided.

The gold vehicle rolled and landed on its top in the ditch on the south side of the road.

The other vehicle was in a steep ditch on the opposite side of the highway.

First responders on the scene told KTVO that three people were injured. All were riding in the gold SUV.

They were all taken by ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Right now, no update on the severity of their injuries.
