Three Kirksville residents who were arrested in March for drug trafficking now face federal charges.

Thomas J. Hill, 36; Michael A. Griffin, 24; and Nicki L. Hill, 29, were charged last week in St. Louis federal court with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. Thomas Hill is also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

In March, the three were arrested after a drug bust turned up more than five pounds of methamphetamine, an illegal firearm and a handgun.

The suspects are awaiting transfer to federal authorities in the Adair County jail.

State cases against the trio are still ongoing.
