Three-vehicle crash injures two in SE Iowa


According to the Iowa State Highway Patrol, a truck driven by John Grahek, 54, of Oskaloosa, was in the northbound lane of Highway 63 waiting to turn west onto Lynndale Road when a tractor track hit Grahek's truck from behind at a high rate of speed.

Two people were injured following a three-vehicle crash in southeast Iowa.

The crash happened just before 12:30 p.m. Monday in Mahaska County.

It happened on Highway 63 and Lynndale Road.

According to the Iowa State Highway Patrol, a truck driven by John Grahek, 54, of Oskaloosa, was in the northbound lane of Highway 63 waiting to turn west onto Lynndale Road when a tractor track hit Grahek's truck from behind at a high rate of speed.

The impact caused Grahek's truck to enter the southbound lane of Highway 63 where he then struck a semi.

Grahek was injured.

The driver of the semi, Mitch Huffman, 26, of Council Bluffs, was also injured.

Both were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The driver that rear-ended Grahek, Tony Raske, 45, of Alden, Iowa, was not injured in the crash.
