Kirksville, MO. — Dozens of people are expected to attend an event on Friday that features a famous Missouri quilter.
On Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Kirksville Arts Association, well-known designer and quilter Carl Hentsch will showcase his work at the, 'My Life in Quilts' Trunk Show.
Coordinator Andrea O'Brien says they are expecting a very large crowd with people from across northeast Missouri expected to attend.
Those who attend can expect to see around 30 quilts that Carl will present to the community.
O'Brien says "My Life in Quilts" is meant to represent the personal value of quilts and show that every quilt has a story and purpose.
O'Brien says even if you don't have quilting experience, you won't leave the event without being wowed.
“ I think if you like just seeing the artistic value of the work of quilting you will be amazed of the work that he does. I think seeing just the talent and the diversity of what he’s making and the story behind each of the quilts. It’s really a great show.”
The following day, there will be a quilt retreat that will also be run by Carl.
