Woman injured in ax attack, one man in custody

One woman was injured in a domestic incident in the 200 block of Scott St. in Kirksville (KTVO)

UPDATE: Officers with the Kirksville Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of East Scott Street around 10:40 Friday night after it was reported a female had been seriously assaulted with a weapon by her husband.

According to Kirksville police, officers arrived on scene and found a female in the street suffering from serious physical injuries.

With the help of witnesses, officers arrested Alidor Masingo, 35, of Kirksville.

The unidentified female victim was flown to University Hospital in Columbia with life threatening injuries.

Masingo is currently being held on a 24-hour hold at the Adair County Detention Center pending formal charges.

KPD was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Adair County Sheriff's Office and Truman Department of Public Safety.

Authorities are investigating a domestic incident in the 200 block of Scott Street in Kirksville.

Responders were dispatched there around 10:40 Friday night.

Sergeant Grissom of the Kirksville Police Department told KTVO at the scene that one female was injured in the incident. She was transported by Air Evac with serious injuries.

One male is now in custody.

A sharp bladed object that was believed to be an ax was used in the incident.

Multiple first responders assisted at the scene.
