Maggie Lee Fickes, 77 years old, of Bronson, Florida, formerly of Green City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.

Maggie was born April 17, 1940 in Green City, to Frank and Naomi (Mobley) McFarland. Maggie married Bobby Russell and two daughters were born to this marriage. She then married Claire Dunaway and one son was born to this marriage. She later married Herman Fickes, he preceded her in death.

Survivors include: three children, Barbara Adams of Green City, Tammy Downey and husband John Criss of Bronson, Florida, and Scott Dunaway and wife Rose of Williston, Florida; 7 grandchildren, Ashley Shafer, Shane Adams, Daniel Criss, April Gonzalez, Matthew Criss, Tiffany Steele and husband Trenton, and Valerie Dunaway; 6 great great grandchildren, Dylan Shafer, Heather Gonzalez, Elijah Gonzalez, Alexis Downey, Elana Steele, and Jace Dunaway; four brothers, James McFarland of Novinger, Missouri, Marvin McFarland of Arizona, Ronnie McFarland of Arizona, and Cleo McFarland of Indiana; and one sister-in-law, Beverly McFarland of St. Louis, Missouri.

Maggie was preceded in death by: her parents; a daughter, Angela Russell; 4 brothers, Raymond McFarland, Frank McFarland, Jr., Willie McFarland, and Alvie McFarland; and sisters, Evelyn Boster, Gertrude McFarland, and Frances McFarland.

Maggie was born and raised in Green City, graduating from Green City High School. She enjoyed flowers and plants. She was a painter and crafter, and liked to sew. Maggie loved animals and was a good Christian.

Funeral services for Maggie will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City. Burial will follow at Campbell Cemetery at Novinger, Missouri.
