Truman Women Sweep Weekend Road Swing With 75-52 Win At Rockhurst


KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A strong second half push broke open a four-point Truman lead to a 23-point Bulldog victory in a 75-52 road win over Rockhurst on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs raced out of the halftime break on a quick 6-0 run with Sloane Totta knocking down a three-pointer to get things started. Tiffany Davenport and Rachel Edmundson hit shots on consecutive possessions to spurt an 8-0 run to build Truman's largest lead at the time 52-36 with 3:03 left in the third.

Truman then wore down Rockhurst and scored 16 of the first 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead by as many as 27.

Rachel Edmundson led the Bulldog offense with 14 points and was three of four from distance. Brooke Bailey scored 10 points. Bailey with three steals and Davenport with five led Truman to a season-high 14 steals in the game. Katie Jaseckas had nine points and 11 rebounds.

The Bulldogs were 11-of-20 (55%) in the second half and shot 45% for the game. Truman also converted on 22-of-28 free throw attempts.

Madeline Ronshausen paced the Hawks with 19 points.

The win sets up a big showdown with #8 Drury University at home on Monday night. Truman enters the tilt with a 5-1 conference record while the Lady Panthers a perfect 5-0 in league play. Drury has had the Bulldog number in past matchups with 11 straight wins against Truman. Tip off from Pershing Arena is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
