Fans in southeast Iowa got their first chance to meet the new Indian Hills basketball team on Friday.

The Indian Hills Warriors and Community Care Auxiliary teamed up for a fall fundraising even at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

Fans in attendance could purchase meal and raffle tickets with proceeds going to the Indian Hills Health Care scholarships.

The partnership of the team and hospital is equally beneficial.

"I think it's a good even for people to meet these kids and get to know them on a more intimate basis," said President of Community Care Auxiliary Roy Roberts.

"We like to help out in a lot of different ways that we can. So if us coming, it can help them a little bit and all the things that they do. We certainly would want to help with that," said Indian Hills Basketball Coach Hank Plona.

Roberts also said he hopes the two groups can partner in years to come and the basketball team will be down in Centerville for Pancake Day on Saturday.
