Centerville baseball heads to the state tournament

UPDATE: Centerville will face Estherville Lincoln Central at 5pm on Monday July 24th.

NORWALK, Ia. - The Centerville Big Reds are returning to state for the first time since winning the 3A title in 2008.

In the class 2A substate 6 game, Centerville topped No. 5 Woodward-Granger 2-1. Centerville trailed Woodward-Granger 1-0 in the 4th, then Daniel Hargrave scored on an error off a Tyson Belloma single to center field.

The game remained tied at one until Tiger Terpstra brought in what would be the deciding run with a single scoring Brady Kauzlarich in the seventh inning.

This is Centerville's fifth trip to the state tournament.
