OTTUMWA, Iowa — Ottumwa High School and boys' basketball head coach Ken Hutchinson parted ways this week.

In a statement issued by the district Friday, Superintendent Nicole Kooiker said Hutchinson resigned following recent allegations of misconduct.

"A student filed a complaint alleging that Mr. Hutchinson engaged in verbal bullying and/or harassment," the statement reads. "After an investigation into the allegations, the school's administration proposed the termination of Hutchinson's employment. Hutchinson denied that he was involved in any bullying or harassment of the student but offered his resignation."

The 2018-2019 season was Hutchinson's first year on the Bulldogs staff.
